Man arrested for allegedly killing 60 year-old man over relationship with his Aunt

A 60-year-old man was allegedly killed by a 35-year-old man at Awutu Bibianiha in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region over claims that the deceased was in a relationship with the suspect’s aunt.

According to reports, the suspect, identified only as Ezekiel, had allegedly threatened on several occasions to kill someone in the community, creating fear among residents.

The threats reportedly became so serious that even his own brother abandoned their family home out of fear.

Reports indicate that the suspect had repeatedly warned the deceased to stay away from his aunt, but the deceased allegedly ignored the warnings.

On the night of the incident, the suspect is said to have attacked and killed him.

Speaking to Nana Ansah Matthew, the Assembly Member for the Obrachere Electoral Area, Hon. Joseph Tettey confirmed that the suspect had previously threatened to kill someone in the community and eventually attacked the deceased, who was reportedly in a relationship with his aunt.

He explained that the deceased had children but was divorced from his wife, while the woman was also unmarried. The two were therefore in a consensual relationship.

The Assembly Member further disclosed that the suspect had been arrested by police at Bawjiase and is currently in custody assisting with investigations.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s brother, Mr. Bentum, alleged that the suspect dragged the victim from his room into a nearby bush and assaulted him with a heavy stick.

The Acting Ebusuapanyin of Bibianiha, Nana Kweku Asare, also confirmed the killing of the 60-year-old man, identified as Ajilo.
