“May God bless Stonebwoy” — Webkid’s father speaks after bail
The father of Ghanaian social media personality Webkid has finally spoken publicly after his son secured temporary freedom following weeks in detention over a controversial cyberbullying case linked to dancehall musician Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy.
Webkid was recently granted a GH¢100,000 bail after spending more than a month in custody over allegations that he used social media to make offensive and disrespectful comments about Stonebwoy’s wife, Dr Louisa Satekla, and members of the musician’s family. The case quickly became a major topic across Ghanaian entertainment circles and online platforms, with many debating whether the punishment was too harsh or necessary to combat online abuse.
Speaking emotionally after the court decision, Webkid’s father expressed appreciation to Stonebwoy and described the bail approval as a moment of relief for the family.
“I thank God Stonebwoy has made the bail successful. I thank God,” he said.
The elderly man also offered prayers for both Stonebwoy and his son, asking for divine protection and progress in their lives despite the public controversy surrounding the matter.
“But I’m praying for Stonebwoy that God will give him strength and never allow his enemies to conquer him. He should always move forward. Then my son too, God should lift him up,” he added.
Visibly emotional during the interview, Webkid’s father admitted that the situation had deeply affected him and the entire family. However, he explained that he was grateful to finally see his son out of custody after weeks behind bars.
“It hurts me, but I don’t have anything to say. I don’t have anything to talk about. Only God do I thank. I feel very happy,” he shared.
The comments from Webkid’s father have since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users praising his humility and calm approach while others continue to debate the seriousness of the allegations against his son.
