Fresh controversy has erupted around the marriage of International God’s Way Church founder Bishop Daniel Obinim and his wife, celebrated gospel singer Florence Obinim, after a man claiming to be the pastor’s long-time legal representative made explosive allegations during a live social media broadcast.

The man, identified as Lawyer Sarpong, alleged in a viral TikTok session that Florence Obinim secretly underwent cosmetic enhancement surgery in Spain, a decision he claimed almost turned tragic. According to him, the gospel musician allegedly had a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure despite strong opposition from her husband.

The comments surfaced amid ongoing online discussions surrounding the couple’s marriage after leaked audios and rumours suggested tension between the two public figures.

Speaking during the live session, Lawyer Sarpong claimed he had worked closely with Bishop Obinim for nearly two decades and therefore knew intimate details about the pastor’s struggles behind closed doors.

“I have been Obinim’s lawyer for almost 20 years. I know Florence and Obinim very well. Obinim has been through a lot, and I can’t say everything, but he has endured many things,” he stated.

The lawyer further alleged that Bishop Obinim advised Florence against going through with the cosmetic procedure, but she allegedly ignored his concerns and travelled to Spain for the surgery anyway.

“Before you went for the BBL, Obinim opposed it, but you still went ahead. Who advised her to do it? When she went through all the trauma in Spain, who spent all the money to save her life?” he claimed.

Lawyer Sarpong also rejected rumours circulating online that Florence Obinim does not own a vehicle and depends on ride-hailing services for transportation. According to him, those claims were misleading and unfair to Bishop Obinim, whom he described as a supportive husband who has invested heavily in his wife’s comfort and wellbeing.

“So why would you come out and embarrass the man by saying you use Uber? They have called me for a meeting, and when I go there, I will tell her the truth — that what she did was painful and wrong. We both know what you went through in Spain. Obinim bought a house for her in Spain and registered it in her name,” Sarpong added.

The allegations have generated massive reactions on social media, with many users questioning why private family matters are now being discussed publicly. Others have also debated whether the lawyer’s comments were appropriate, especially considering the sensitive nature of the claims involving health and marriage.

Neither Bishop Daniel Obinim nor Florence Obinim has officially responded to the allegations at the time of publication. However, the controversy has intensified public attention on the couple’s relationship, with many waiting to see whether either side will address the claims.
