The ongoing marital drama involving Ghanaian preacher Bishop Daniel Obinim and his wife, gospel musician Florence Obinim, has taken another dramatic turn after the singer publicly responded to allegations made against her by her husband.

The controversy, which has dominated social media in recent weeks through viral videos, leaked voice notes, and online discussions, intensified after Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God’s Way Church and popularly known as “Angel Obinim,” accused his wife of defying his instructions.

In a recent video, the controversial preacher claimed he had warned Florence Obinim not to associate with Ghanaian fashion entrepreneur Richard Brown, widely known as “Osebo the Zaraman,” due to past misunderstandings between them and previous allegations involving Osebo’s former wife.

However, Florence Obinim has firmly denied ever receiving such a warning from her husband.

“Bishop Obinim never told me not to visit Osebo. God is my witness because I never received any warning from him. Maybe Bishop is saying that because of his history with Osebo,” she stated during an interview.

The gospel singer also opened up about another incident that reportedly caused tension in their marriage. According to Florence, Bishop Obinim initially prevented her from attending a church programme where she had been invited to perform and promote her latest song because of a previous disagreement involving the host pastor.

“Recently, a pastor invited me to perform my new song at his church. Bishop told me he wouldn’t allow me to go. I obeyed him, but the pastor kept calling me, so I informed Bishop again. He later told me he would only agree if the pastor came to apologise to him. I informed the pastor, and he eventually visited my husband at our home in Kumasi before Bishop permitted me to go,” she explained.

Florence Obinim further rejected suggestions that she has become disrespectful or disobedient toward her husband, insisting that such accusations are false.

“If Bishop says I have started disobeying him, which is not true, then he can bring divorce papers and proceed. I know the work of God is difficult, and that is why I pray for my husband every day. I even support him,” she said.

She also addressed rumours linking her to the women’s advocacy group Team Legal Wives, a movement known on social media for speaking against the mistreatment of married women.

“Also, I am not affiliated with Team Legal Wives in any way. I know the group speaks against men who maltreat their wives, but I don’t even have the contact of any member of the group,” she added.

Despite the growing tension and public exchanges, Florence maintains that she continues to pray for her husband while supporting his ministry, even as rumours of a possible separation continue to gain momentum.
