“You are sick if you are heartbroken” — Florence Obinim sparks new controversy

Florence Obinim, a gospel personality and wife of International God’s Way Church founder Bishop Daniel Obinim, has stirred public debate after sharing a firm message on love, heartbreak, and emotional loyalty that many believe was directed at her husband’s recent public remarks.

The comments come amid ongoing social media conversations about tensions within the couple’s marriage, with Bishop Obinim having previously made several public statements about his marital issues, which have sparked widespread discussion online.

In her response, Florence Obinim expressed a strong personal philosophy about emotional attachment, insisting that she does not place her heart in the hands of any human being.

“If I love someone and the person leaves me, I will never be heartbroken. I even pity the person. What offense did I commit to warrant these actions from you? If I have been good to you and you betray me, why should I cry about it?” she said.

She further suggested that emotional pain should not be seen as weakness or proof of genuine love, adding that words alone are not enough to measure true affection.

“The reason I become sad for the one who has offended me is this: how will I know that you love me is not by word of mouth. It is not about saying you love me,” she stated.

Florence Obinim also made a striking remark about emotional resilience and faith, saying she does not believe in giving her heart fully to people because it ultimately belongs to God.

“The heart is not for you. It is for God, so we do not give it to man. You are sick if you are heartbroken. You want to laugh at me because I am heartbroken? The day my heart will be broken is the day God has neglected me,” she added.

Her comments have since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users interpreting them as a subtle response to Bishop Daniel Obinim’s repeated public commentary on their marriage.
