“If anything happens to my wife, they’ll blame me” — Obinim sounds alarm
Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder and leader of International God’s Way Church, has once again stirred public conversation after expressing deep concerns about the people currently surrounding his wife, gospel musician Florence Obinim.
Speaking before his congregation on Thursday, June 11, 2026, the controversial preacher admitted that he has become increasingly uncomfortable with the company his wife keeps these days, insisting that the situation has left him fearful and emotionally unsettled.
According to Obinim, Florence was once known for living a quiet and private life with only a few close associates, but things have now changed dramatically.
“My wife, Florence Obinim’s current circle of friends is not the best. I’m scared now and currently feel threatened. My wife was an introvert who didn’t like having too many friends, but now she has this team around her. Should the slightest thing happen to my wife, they will say I am the cause,” he said.
Regardless, Obinim made it clear that nothing would make him leave his wife, insisting that he is ready to stand by her.
“I will stay back,” he added.
His latest comments come shortly after another controversial statement he made regarding his funeral arrangements. During a recent church service, Bishop Obinim declared that, in the event of his death, only his children and members of his church should oversee his burial rites. He openly stated that Florence Obinim should not be involved in organising his funeral.
Florence Obinim later reacted to her husband’s remarks during an interview, stating that she was neither shocked nor offended by his comments. Instead, she said she appreciated the fact that he had openly communicated his wishes while he was still alive.
The development has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many Ghanaians debating whether the preacher’s concerns stem from genuine fear, marital insecurity, or the pressure that often comes with fame and public scrutiny.
Known for his outspoken nature and headline-making sermons, Bishop Obinim remains one of Ghana’s most talked-about religious figures, while Florence Obinim continues to enjoy admiration from gospel music fans across the country.
