“Big Elder and Legend” — Stonebwoy hails Amanzeba after heartfelt praise
Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician Nat Brew, widely known in the music industry as Amanzeba Nat Brew, has expressed deep admiration for award-winning dancehall artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, describing him as a remarkable talent in contemporary Ghanaian music.
Speaking in an interview, the veteran musician revealed that he has had personal interactions with Stonebwoy, especially on creative and musical development matters, noting that their relationship reflects mutual respect between an older and younger generation of artistes.
“I’ve interacted with him personally on some of the stuff that needs to be done because he’s such a wonderful musician,” he said.
Amanzeba Nat Brew also shared his philosophy when working with younger musicians, explaining that he prefers practical collaboration over formal teaching, as it allows artistes to learn through direct experience.
“Quite a number of artistes that I’m working with are so young, and it is better to make people experience it than to stand there and say you are lecturing them. We work together, we play the music together,” he explained.
He added that many of the younger artistes he engages with have shown openness to different musical styles, including his own highlife influence, which he believes helps broaden their artistic growth.
Following the interview, Stonebwoy responded on social media platform X, acknowledging the veteran’s kind words and showing appreciation for the respect shown to him.
He wrote, “Big Elder and Legend Amanzeba.”
The exchange has been widely praised by fans as a positive example of intergenerational respect within the Ghanaian music industry, highlighting how established musicians and younger stars can collaborate and learn from one another while preserving the country’s rich musical heritage.
