“If Lazarus rose, Black Stars can rise too” — Adom Kyei-Duah

Founder and General Overseer of the Believers Worship Centre, Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, has shared a prophetic message concerning Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, ahead of their FIFA World Cup campaign.

The renowned preacher made the remarks during a church service attended by Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, where he addressed growing concerns and negative predictions surrounding the national team’s future.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media platform X, the man of God acknowledged the numerous prophecies and public comments suggesting that the Black Stars are headed for failure. However, he insisted that those declarations would not materialise.

He said, “Go and listen to all the prophecies that have been made about the Black Stars. We can all agree that the Black Stars look like they are in the mortuary because of the many prophecies.

According to Adom Kyei-Duah, the national team still has hope despite the criticism and pessimism surrounding its recent performances.

“But if Lazarus could rise from the dead, then the Black Stars can rise and get back on their feet,” he declared to his congregation.

The preacher further suggested that the presence of Sports Minister Kofi Adams at the service symbolised a turning point, adding that the negative prophecies hanging over the team would not succeed.

His comments have since generated widespread reactions online, with many Ghanaians debating the current state of the national team and the future of Ghana football.

While some social media users welcomed the prophecy and expressed optimism about the Black Stars’ chances, others argued that deeper structural problems within Ghana football must first be addressed.

The Black Stars, once regarded as one of Africa’s football powerhouses, have in recent years faced intense criticism over inconsistent performances, disappointing tournament exits, and concerns over football administration in the country.
