“I was asked to join a cult for fame” — Noble Nketiah

Gospel musician Noble Nketsiah has revealed a disturbing experience from his early music career, claiming he was once approached with an offer to join a secret spiritual group in exchange for fame and success.

Speaking in an interview, the gospel artiste recounted that the incident occurred in 2006, shortly after he parted ways with his record label and began working independently.

According to him, three men approached him at the time, praising his musical talent and suggesting they could elevate his career to international levels if he agreed to join their spiritual setup.

“They told me I was too gifted to remain local and that they could help me take my ministry to the international level. They admonished me to join their altar, which would propel me into greatness. They promised me wealth, travel, fame, widespread recognition, and a very fulfilling life,” he recalled.

Nketsiah said he became uneasy about the proposal and later investigated further, only to realise that the offer was linked to a cult-like initiation, which he immediately rejected.

“I immediately turned it down because I have faith in God. God is my helper, not any altar,” he stated.

He further disclosed that after declining the offer, he experienced a difficult phase in his life marked by financial struggles and stalled career opportunities, which he believed was a form of backlash for his refusal.

He added: “Afterwards, things went worse; no money, no connection, nothing. People who had promised me started disappointing, friends deserted me, everything I touched turned worse. I saw it as the plans of the devil to frustrate me. About six months later, they called to taunt me about how I was faring after rejecting their juicy deal, but I still wasn’t pushed because I was content with what I had in life.”

Nketsiah also recounted a moment of spiritual encouragement during a trip to Spain, where he attended church and received a prophetic message assuring him of divine timing and future elevation.

Looking back, the gospel singer maintains that refusing the offer remains one of the most important decisions of his life, saying it strengthened his faith and commitment to his Christian ministry.
