Ga Mantse Urges Ghanaians to Protect Heritage as “Living Legacy” at Sacred Crown Awards Launch
His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiki Tsuru , Ga Mantse, has called on Ghanaians to safeguard the nation’s culture and traditions so the next generation inherits a living heritage, not an empty one.
Speaking through Naa Lamiley Dromo, Queen Mother, at the launch of the Sacred Crown Awards 2026 in Accra, the Ga Mantse stressed that African heritage, spirituality, and wellness form the three pillars for a strong society.
“A people who forget their spirituality lose their inner strength. A society that neglects wellness loses its balance,” Naa Lamiley Dromo said on his behalf. “Sacred Crown Awards is therefore built on these pillars that are very important to the life of every nation.”
She explained that African heritage connects people to their language, customs, royal traditions, values, and history. Spirituality teaches reverence, humility, peace, discipline, prayer, service, and respect for the divine. Wellness, she added, means caring for the human being completely — body, mind, soul, and spirit.
As president of the Ga Traditional Council, the Ga Mantse noted that traditional institutions must play a healing role in national development.
“Chieftaincy is not only about the stool, the crown, or the palace. It is about service, it is about protection, it is about guidance. It is about preserving the dignity of the people. The crown carries responsibility. The crown carries sacrifice. The crown carries wisdom. The crown carries duty.”
He said the awards platform must celebrate more than fame. “It must recognize those whose work has touched lives, restored hope, protected culture, strengthened community, promoted healing, and brought honor to our dear nation.”
“Do not be ashamed of your roots. Your culture is not old-fashioned, your heritage is not weak, your identity is not inferior. You come from greatness, you come from wisdom, you come from traditions that have survived for generations. Stand by them, learn your history, respect your elders, honor your customs, build your future with confidence.”
The Sacred Crown Awards 2026 seeks to honor individuals and groups whose impact reflects the values of heritage, spirituality, and wellness.
