Founder and leader of Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has initiated legal proceedings against Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, over alleged defamatory statements, seeking GH¢10 million in damages.

The suit, filed at the High Court in Amasaman, marks a significant escalation in the long-standing public feud between the two prominent Ghanaian religious figures.

According to court filings, Prophet Nigel Gaisie alleges that Kumchacha made a series of damaging remarks during public engagements and across various social media platforms, questioning the credibility and authenticity of his prophetic ministry.

Among the allegations cited in the lawsuit are claims that Prophet Nigel Gaisie relies on carefully orchestrated arrangements and planted individuals within congregations to obtain personal information, which is later presented as divine revelation during prophetic sessions.

The plaintiff contends that these statements, along with other remarks portraying him as a false prophet, have tarnished his reputation and undermined public confidence in his ministry.

Prophet Nigel Gaisie further argues that the publications have subjected him to public ridicule, negatively affected his standing within the Christian community, strained personal relationships, and diminished the trust of some members of his congregation.

The lawsuit states that several attempts were made over the years to resolve the dispute amicably and privately. However, those efforts allegedly failed to produce a satisfactory outcome, prompting his decision to seek legal redress through the courts.

As part of the reliefs being sought, Prophet Nigel Gaisie is asking the court to declare the statements contained in videos circulated on social media as defamatory. He is also seeking an order compelling Kumchacha to publicly retract the remarks and issue an unqualified apology.

In addition, the founder of Prophetic Hill Chapel is demanding GH¢10 million in damages for the alleged reputational harm caused by the publications.

Given the prominence of both figures within Ghana’s religious landscape, the case is expected to attract significant public attention as it unfolds.

As the matter proceeds before the courts, it is poised to become one of the most closely watched legal disputes involving high-profile religious leaders in recent years.
