“Nobody celebrated my success” – LilWin explodes over Dr. Likee’s concert
Kumawood actor LilWin has responded fiercely to critics urging him to publicly congratulate Dr Likee following the comedian’s sold-out O2 Indigo event in London.
LilWin argued that the same entertainment industry now expecting him to applaud a colleague failed to show him similar support when he organized his own major productions.
The issue began after LilWin claimed that Dr Likee’s comedy show at the O2 Indigo in London on May 22, 2026, was not personally financed by the comedian. According to him, he knew the person who allegedly funded the event.
However, LilWin’s remarks were dismissed by Dr Likee’s associate, Papa Kumasi, who stated that Dr Likee sold his personal vehicle to finance the show. Media personality DJ Slim also criticized LilWin, questioning his credibility.
He said that, “Could not even fill Prempeh Assembly Hall.”
Speaking in a video that has since gone viral on social media, LilWin expressed frustration over the backlash.
“Those who know the truth yet continue speaking carelessly, God will judge you,” he said.
The actor maintained that he is under no obligation to congratulate anyone, stressing that neither Dr Likee nor members of the Kumawood fraternity celebrated his own achievements.
“To those upset because I didn’t congratulate someone, pay attention. I organized a massive four-day event, yet the same person you want me to praise never acknowledged it or shared anything about it on social media.
“When I premiered ‘A Country Called Ghana’ in Accra, the National Theatre was sold out. Influential personalities, including Medikal, MPs, and ministers, attended the event, but none of my colleagues congratulated me. The same thing happened when I released ‘Traore‘. Nobody said anything. So why should people force me to congratulate someone? Are you mad?” he questioned.
LilWin also dismissed claims that he was initially billed to appear at the event before being removed from the lineup.
“I was never invited to the show in the first place, so why are people insisting that I congratulate someone?” he added.
