The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in a targeted intelligence-led operation aimed at dismantling a robbery network operating in Akatsi and nearby communities.

The exercise, led by the Special Operations Assistant (SOA) to the Inspector-General of Police, followed a series of reported robbery incidents in the area.

According to police, the first suspect, Enoch Adoglo, was arrested at Gavekope on April 21, 2026. Further operations based on intelligence led officers to the outskirts of the same community, where a second suspect, Cephas Aniwaa, a blacksmith believed to be manufacturing and supplying weapons to the group, was apprehended. A third suspect, David Adzinu, was also taken into custody.

A search conducted on the suspects led to the retrieval of a cache of weapons and ammunition. These included seven single-barrel rifles, five locally manufactured pistols, one revolver, as well as several rounds of ammunition. Police also seized mobile phones and tools suspected to be used in the fabrication of weapons.

Investigations have further identified another suspect, Mensah Kedzi, as a key figure linked to the robbery activities, including an incident reported on April 3, 2026.

He is currently on the run along with other accomplices identified as Akakpo, an ex-convict, and one Ageh.

Police say efforts have been intensified to track down the remaining suspects and ensure all individuals connected to the criminal network are apprehended and brought to justice.
