A man believed to be in his 30s is in critical condition after being severely beaten by a mob at Kasoa Ghana Flag in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region over an alleged theft incident.
According to reports, the suspect visited a waakye vendor under the pretext of buying food. After inquiring about the prices, he allegedly took off with a money container (“konko”) holding about GH¢200 from the vendor’s morning sales.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect was chased, apprehended, and dragged back to the scene, where he was assaulted by an angry crowd.

In an interview with Nana Ansah, the food vendor, Kate Egyir, explained that the suspect initially acted like a customer before stealing the container. She further alleged that he attempted to steal from another nearby shop selling drinks.
Madam Egyir noted that the area has recently experienced a rise in theft cases, with criminals often breaking into shops and stealing from vendors.

The suspect, who was nearly lynched by the mob, is currently in critical condition and has been left by the roadside.
