Govt Urged to Support Kayayies to Prevent Teenage Pregnancy

The leader of Kunata Voluntary Organisation, Alhassan Yahaya, has appealed to the government and Ghanaians to support Kayayies (female porters) to prevent teenage pregnancy, citing it as a major concern.

Speaking at an Eid Fitr party hosted by Kunata Voluntary Organisation and the Pamela Bridgewater Project for Kayayies at Mamobi in Accra, Yahaya distributed essential items like sanitary pads and diapers.

He thanked supportive mothers at Kejetia and Makola markets, including Mr. Anthony K. Sarpong and Rev. Edmund Y. Fianko, for their contributions.

At the event, the Kayayies also requested accommodation and basic needs support from President John Dramani Mahama.
