A 21-year-old student of A.M.E Zion Girls Senior High School, identified as Emmanuella Quainoo, has reportedly died following a mysterious bee attack at around 4:00 p.m. yesterday in Winneba, Central Region.
According to eyewitnesses, ongoing construction work in the area is believed to have disturbed a swarm of bees, which suddenly attacked the student, leaving her with multiple stings.
A distress call was placed to the Apam Fire Service for intervention, and the victim was rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for emergency treatment.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased, led by Mrs. Vida Ayi Mensah, confirmed the incident to Nana Ansah, describing it as devastating.
She revealed that the victim had multiple bee stings all over her body, even upon arrival at the hospital.
According to her, despite the efforts of medical staff to save her life, Emmanuella sadly passed away.
