The Ghana Police Service has taken Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, into custody over comments he allegedly made in a viral video concerning the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba.
According to a statement from the Police, preliminary investigations suggest that Lutterodt’s remarks about the late musician were offensive and had the potential to incite a breach of public peace.
The statement further explained that in the video, Counsellor Lutterodt allegedly called on some young people to march to the residence of the late musician.
Police said he has since been granted bail and is expected to appear before court on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
“He faces charges of offensive conduct conducive to a breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), as well as inciting violence under the Criminal Offences Act and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491),” the statement added.
