One person has been confirmed dead, while two others survived with injuries after a serious road crash at Breku Forest, close to the Pra River on the Accra–Kumasi Highway in the Ashanti Region.
The accident happened on Sunday, January 25, 2026, involving a Howo Sinotruk truck loaded with cement and bearing registration number AS-4114-24. Reports indicate that the truck lost control and overturned, trapping three people inside.
Officers from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly responded to the incident and undertook a rescue operation to free the trapped occupants. Two victims were successfully extricated from the wreckage and rescued alive.

The injured persons were subsequently transferred to the Ghana National Ambulance Service and conveyed in ambulance GV-589-20 to the Juaso Government Hospital, where they are receiving medical care.
Sadly, one of the occupants was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was recovered and handed over to the Police to support ongoing investigations and for transportation to the morgue.

The truck suffered severe damage, especially to its front section, highlighting the impact of the crash.
Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the accident, and investigations are currently underway to establish the circumstances that led to the incident.
