A 30-year-old man, identified as Kwabine Kwakwa, has allegedly killed his in-law at Agona Bobikuma Lower in the Agona West Municipal Assembly of the Central Region, following a reported marriage dispute.
According to information gathered by Nana Ansah, the incident occurred after a misunderstanding believed to be linked to ongoing marital issues between the suspect and his wife.
Reports indicate that the suspect’s wife, Maa Abena, left their marital home three days prior to the incident after a heated disagreement and sought refuge elsewhere.
It is further reported that the suspect later went to his wife’s family house, where he met her mother and uncle. Later that evening, the uncle was found dead.
Reports also suggest that after the alleged attack on the uncle, the suspect attempted to harm his mother-in-law but was chased away by dogs in the house.
Speaking in an interview, the Assemblyman for the Bobikuma Lower Electoral Area, Emmanuel Otoo, confirmed that the suspect is currently at large and that the incident has been reported to the police.
He said the youth in the area have begun searching for the suspect to prevent him from harming anyone else.
Police have since launched investigations into the matter, and the suspect is expected to be arrested and taken through due legal processes.
The incident has left residents of Agona Bobikuma in shock, as the suspect has not yet been apprehended.
