Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, has been arrested in the United States in connection with an alleged stabbing involving his wife, according to local authorities.
The Lower Paxton Township Police said the incident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township, Pennsylvania. A report by abc27.com described the incident as domestic-related.
Police confirmed that the woman was transported to a hospital by first responders and is currently in stable condition. Authorities also stressed that the incident posed no threat to the general public.
Mr. Nortey, 41, a resident of Harrisburg, has been charged with multiple offences, including attempted homicide, possession of an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
Court records indicate that he was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Judy, who denied him bail. He is currently being held at the Dauphin County Prison pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 26, 2026.
