President John Dramani Mahama has warned that anyone who harms, injures, or kills a police officer will be dealt with ruthlessly.
“We will hunt them down, neutralize them, and bring them to justice,” he said while handing over 100 pickup vehicles to the police administration to boost security in Accra.
The president noted that the police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty over the past year, many of whom were shot by armed robbers or other criminal elements, will not be forgotten.
“I want to serve notice that the police will deal ruthlessly with anyone who harms, injures, or kills a police officer. We will hunt them down, neutralize them, and bring them to justice.”
President Mahama emphasized that the commissioning of the vehicles is not just about logistics, but about credibility, public trust, and strengthening internal security and safety.
“Government does what it says it will do,” he said, adding that the Ghana Police Service is the most visible arm of the state security apparatus and must be equipped to respond effectively to danger.
The 100 pickup vehicles are the first batch of several to be presented to the police service, aimed at improving patrols, reducing response time, and strengthening police visibility nationwide.
