A 23-year-old woman, identified as Theresa Darkoah, has allegedly died after being poisoned by her boyfriend following a dispute over GH¢100 at Gomoa Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The suspect, Kofi Emma, popularly known as Blackee, is alleged to have committed the act after an argument with the deceased over money.
According to reports, Kofi Emma had been financially supporting Theresa in an attempt to win her affection. However, the relationship reportedly became strained when Theresa allegedly took advantage of his generosity.
The incident is said to have occurred after Theresa requested GH¢100 from Kofi Emma to repair a faulty fan. He reportedly sent the money, but she allegedly stopped responding to his calls afterwards.
Sources say Kofi Emma later demanded a refund and allegedly threatened dire consequences when Theresa refused to return the money. It is alleged that he subsequently poisoned medication belonging to Theresa and sent it to her through a messenger.
Theresa’s condition reportedly worsened shortly after taking the medication, prompting her to be rushed to the hospital, where she later died. Medical officials are said to have confirmed that she ingested a toxic substance.
Kofi Emma is currently on the run, as police have launched a manhunt to arrest him.
A close friend of the deceased has since shared details of the incident with Nana Ansah, narrating what she knows about the tragic events leading to Theresa’s death.
