Despite the Black Stars’ inability to qualify for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Ghana’s presence continues to be felt on the global stage through award-winning dancehall artist Stonebwoy.
Speaking ahead of the BHIM Festival, Dr. Louisa Satekla, the revered wife of Stonebwoy, shed light on what she described as a remarkable year for the musician, marked by extensive international engagements and consistent representation of Ghana across global platforms.
According to her, Stonebwoy has carried the nation’s image with pride, dignity and excellence wherever he has appeared.
Dr. Louisa stressed that Stonebwoy’s impact extends far beyond music, noting that he has strategically used his brand to create meaningful influence in education and other sectors.
A major highlight of the year, she revealed, is the launch of the Livingstone Education Fund, an initiative designed to support academically brilliant but financially challenged students. She explained that the idea was inspired by Stonebwoy’s own academic journey at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), where he recently graduated with a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.
According to Dr. Louisa, even during his time as a student, Stonebwoy was known for supporting others, which motivated him to establish a lasting legacy at the institution through the education fund.
“The Livingstone Education Fund is focused on empowering students who are academically gifted but face financial difficulties, creating opportunities for them to succeed,” she said.
Through his educational initiatives, international engagements and continuous personal growth, Stonebwoy has chalked up significant milestones both professionally and personally.
Dr. Louisa noted that these achievements reflect his strong commitment to social impact while projecting Ghana positively on the global stage.
