A devastating fire has destroyed a mobile money shop and a phone shop at Kasoa Walantu in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the early hours of Monday, December 22, 2025, leaving two people injured.
According to a report gathered by Nana Ansah, the fire started from a container phone shop and quickly spread to a nearby mobile money shop, reducing several accessories to ashes.
Two individuals sustained injuries while attempting to put out the fire.
Speaking in an interview, an eyewitness, Abdul Rahim, said all items in the container phone shop were completely destroyed, including the mobile money shop and its contents.
Meanwhile, the Assemblyman for the Walantu–Top Hill Electoral Area, Robert Arthur, disclosed that preliminary reports indicate the fire was caused by an electrical fault in one of the containers.
He confirmed that all accessories in the container phone shop were burnt beyond recovery.
