The Abbossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association has announced its decision to distance itself from the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) due to feelings of exclusion from key decision-making processes.
The association’s head of Communication, Mr. Takyie Addo, made the announcement, citing concerns over GUTA’s failure to involve them in important decisions, including the recent inauguration of a new president.
Mr. Addo expressed disappointment that GUTA, considered the mother association, had been making decisions without consulting the Abbossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association, one of the largest and most influential business bodies in Ghana.
He emphasized that the association would not support any activities undertaken by GUTA until their concerns are addressed and they are given the respect and recognition they deserve.
The decision to sever ties with GUTA is seen as a significant blow to the organization, which may impact its ability to make effective and representative decisions.
Mr. Addo warned that the move would have ramifications for GUTA’s operations and urged the association’s executives to acknowledge and respect the role of the Abbossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association in the decision-making process.
