Sampson Fosu, CEO of S.K Ofosu Company, has denied allegations that his concession is being used for illegal mining activities, stating that he has no knowledge of any mining operations on his legally acquired concession in Dormaa Ahenkro.
Fosu explained that he obtained the concession in 2020 and was awaiting parliamentary approval before commencing operations.
However, he claims that machines and excavators were brought onto the site after the 2024 elections, and he was prevented from accessing the area.
An official search at the Minerals Commission revealed that his documents had been transferred to three companies without his knowledge, despite still holding the mineral rights.
Mr Fosu has taken the matter to court, seeking to challenge the claims and assert his rights as the lawful owner of the concession.
“I had no knowledge of what was happening on my concession, and I was surprised to find out that it had been taken from me, with people working there,” Fosu said, urging the media and stakeholders to take notice of the situation.
