The Ministry of the Interior has announced that Friday, 5th December 2025, will be a statutory public holiday in celebration of this year’s Farmers Day.
In a statement issued on Friday, 28th November 2025, the Ministry directed that the day be observed nationwide as an official holiday.
According to the release, “Friday, 5th December 2025, which marks FARMERS DAY, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.”
The declaration—signed on behalf of the Interior Minister by Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak (MP)—reiterated government’s commitment to recognising the immense contributions of farmers and fisherfolk to Ghana’s development.
Farmers Day continues to be one of Ghana’s most important national events, honouring the dedication, hard work, and vital role of the country’s agricultural workforce.
With the date now formally confirmed, all institutions, organisations, and the general public are expected to adhere to the directive accordingly.
