Three people, including two toddlers, have tragically lost their lives in a fatal road accident at Adeiso in the Upper West Akyem District of the Eastern Region.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when a Toyota Hiace minibus with registration number GE 6187-22, fully loaded and travelling from Pokuase to Asamankese, was involved in a crash after the driver reportedly experienced brake failure.

According to eyewitness accounts, the driver attempted to regain control of the vehicle, but in the process, he veered off the road and slammed into a bridge directly in front of the Adeiso Police Station.

Eyewitness Kwaku Dosah told Oyerepa FM’s Okogyeabour Ocran that the driver struggled with the steering wheel moments before the impact.

Several passengers sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Nsawam Government Hospital, where some are reported to be in critical condition.

Police at Adeiso have conveyed the bodies of the deceased to the morgue for preservation, while investigations into the cause of the accident are underway.
