The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, on November 13, 2025, presented the second Budget and Economic Policy Statement of the John Dramani Mahama administration to Parliament.
The presentation was carried out in line with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 21 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), which mandate the government to lay its annual budget before the House. Dr Forson delivered the statement on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, as constitutionally required.
This is the second time Dr Ato Forson has presented the national budget since assuming office as Minister for Finance.
The 2026 Budget, themed “Resetting for Growth, Jobs and Economic Transformation,” outlined the government’s priorities for the coming year, including progress on the ongoing IMF-supported economic recovery programme and updates on key policy initiatives.
