Evangelist Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo, formerly known in the music industry as Lord Kenya, has cautioned the public to be mindful of the negative influence that friends can have on their lives and to cut ties with such individuals when necessary.
The former Hiplife musician disclosed that he started drinking alcohol and later began smoking marijuana due to the influence of friends he believed had his best interests at heart.
“At first I was taught how to drink with the explanation that even if one gets drunk, they will be quickly become sober again.
Then I went to stay with a friend who had marijuana at home and encouraged me to smoke as much as I could,” he said in a Sunday sermon yesterday.
Evangelist Lord Kenya, the Founder of the Face of Grace Covenant Temple, stressed that some friends are hellbent on destroying them, and they must be wary of such friends.
“Some friends come into your life to cause your downfall, to disgrace you. They’ll introduce you to vices and when you fail, they laugh at you,” he added.
Lord Kenya regularly uses his struggle with drug abuse in the past to warn people against indulging in substance abuse.
