Engineer and NPP flagbearer hopeful Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong says Ghana must move beyond partisan thinking and focus on rebuilding its economy through productivity and industrialization.
He stated that Ghana’s trajectory is “a dangerous one,” as both major political parties have become preoccupied with internal power struggles rather than national progress.
“The country is bigger than the party,” Agyepong asserted during an interview on Channel One TV.
“Politicians from both sides must focus on mobilizing the forces of production and creating an economy that allows every Ghanaian to realize their potential.”
Drawing from his experience as a civil engineer and exporter, he criticized Ghana’s continued export of raw cocoa beans after a century of production.
“After 100 years of cocoa farming, we are still exporting raw beans. The chocolate industry does not use raw beans. We must commit to processing all our beans before export.”
Agyepong also praised the Tree Crop Development Authority for promoting crops like cashew, mango, and palm, and urged Ghanaian investors to engage more deeply in value addition.
He said the country must prioritize practical economic solutions over political slogans. “We cannot develop by merely talking.
“We must roll up our sleeves and work. I believe in an action-oriented, disciplined Ghana where leadership is about results.”
