Telecommunications giant MTN Ghana has held a cybersecurity awareness forum, “Securing Our Digital Future,” targeting both its staff and customers.
The event underscores MTN’s commitment to helping people safeguard their personal data and financial information in an increasingly digital environment.

Adwoa Afrakomah Baah Obeng, Senior Manager for Retail Experience (Northern Business District) at MTN Ghana, emphasised that digital vigilance is no longer optional.

She called on the public to remain alert to prevent scams and protect themselves.
“We are leaving more of our lives in the digital space and it has become more important to secure ourselves. There is a lot of scam going on online and there is the need for protection,” she said.
Obeng added that MTN has over the years run campaigns to advise people to “be cyber-alert.”

In addition, the forum highlighted MTN’s outreach efforts beyond Accra and major cities: ongoing awareness campaigns are being held in senior high schools across rural and urban areas to educate young people about digital risks and the long-term implications of one’s online footprint.
She concluded by calling on staff and the public alike to adopt safe digital habits and become ambassadors of good cybersecurity behaviour within their communities.
