A police officer has been confirmed dead following a violent attack by masked gunmen at Sampa in the Bono Region on Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, the gunmen fired multiple shots across parts of the community during what is suspected to be a clash between two rival groups.
According to report, the security personnel have since been deployed to the area to restore calm and prevent further escalation.
There is currently a heavy security presence and intensified patrols throughout the township as investigations continue to uncover the cause of the violence and identify those responsible.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service is yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
