A 25-year-old man, identified as Kwame Whisky, has been arrested by police at Kasoa Ofankor for allegedly poisoning his 21-year-old girlfriend, Linda, at Papaase in the Awutu Senya West District.
According to reports, Linda visited her boyfriend on Thursday and ate a meal he had prepared for her. She was later found lifeless on his bed, with foam coming from her mouth.
Sources indicate that the couple shared a two-year-old child. Linda reportedly visited the suspect on Thursday evening but was discovered dead the following morning.
Speaking to the media, Nana Kwaw Abbey-Quaye, Chief of Papaase Number 1 and a relative of the deceased, confirmed that the suspect reported himself to the police, after which officers took him into custody.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the police mortuary for preservation and further investigations, while the suspect remains in police custody at Ofankor.
