The Kasoa Ofankor circuit court has remanded a 60-year-old man, Alaji Hakilu, for two weeks for allegedly sleeping with a 12-year-old girl at Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya West District.
According to sources, the suspect is the boyfriend of the victim’s elder sister, who is 16 years old.
The victim and her sister went to the suspect’s house, where a 60-year-old man instructed the elder sister of the victim to purchase some items for them.
The suspect, fully aware of his intentions, however, forced the 12-year-old girl to engage in sexual acts with him.
The elder sister, on the other hand, upon coming back, caught her man sleeping with her younger sister.
Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, the suspect was arrested by the Bawjiase District Police.
He was arraigned today before the Kasoa Ofankor Circuit Court, where the presiding judge, Her Ladyship Linda Amissah, remanded Alaji Hakilu into custody for two weeks.
The suspect is scheduled to reappear before the same court on October 9, 2025.
