G/A: Tension Looms at Resurrection Power Church as Members Protest Alleged Mismanagement
Tension erupted on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the headquarters of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church in Kasoa, as some members staged a protest against the church leadership over alleged financial mismanagement.
The aggrieved members, led by the youth, accused certain elders of the church, including children of the founder, of failing to properly account for church funds. According to them, the leadership has been engaged in gross financial mismanagement and authoritarian practices, which they claim are negatively affecting the well-being of the church.
In the middle of the service, the angry congregants stormed the premises with placards bearing inscriptions such as “No Accountability, No Preaching,” “Boat and Naa Must Go,” and “Stomach Leaders.”
The situation grew tense, prompting the deployment of a heavy police riot control team to the church grounds. Calm was eventually restored after police intervention.
The protesters also accused the church secretary, the current head pastor, and some elders of exhibiting authoritarian leadership styles and engaging in questionable financial practices.
Authorities are yet to officially respond to the allegations, but members say they will continue to demand accountability from the leadership of the church.
