The Paramount Chief of Senya Bereku in the Awutu Senya West District, Nenyi Ampabo Kweku Issiw, has appealed to authorities to upgrade the Senya Bereku Polyclinic into a hospital to help save lives.
According to him, the polyclinic lacks key facilities, and with the community’s growing population, elevating it to a hospital status will ensure access to improved healthcare services.
The Omanhene made this appeal when he addressed the people at the Senya Bereku Akumase Festival durbar, held under the theme “Resetting Senya Akumase Festival for Development.”
He also called for the extension of electricity to underserved areas and the restoration of a constant water supply, lamenting that the community has been without water for over five months, making life unbearable.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West Constituency, Gizzella Tetteh Agbotui, assured the people that the concerns raised by the Omanhene would be addressed. She, however, urged the residents to remain united and support both the chiefs and leadership in efforts to develop the community.
In addition, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu Senya West, Madam Kalala Eghan, encouraged traditional leaders (Nananom) to work together for the betterment of the community.
