The chiefs (Nananom) of Gomoa Fetteh in the Gomoa East District have announced a strict ban on drug use and warned against indecent dressing as preparations intensify for the 2025 Ahorba Festival, scheduled for September 4, 2025.
The traditional leaders explained that the measures are aimed at maintaining peace, order, and decency throughout the celebration. They cautioned that anyone found engaging in drug-related activities or smoking publicly will be reported to the police.
Speaking in an interview, the Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Kwesi Quansah, popularly known as Kwesi Alaji, emphasised that the chiefs are determined to protect the image of the town.
He also urged the youth to comport themselves and observe the rules during the festivities.
Nana Kwesi Quansah further assured that this year’s celebration promises to be one of the best in the history of Gomoa Fetteh, adding that the event will showcase the rich cultural heritage of the community. He also extended an invitation to Ghanaians from all walks of life to participate in the festival.
