The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially opened applications for the promotion of teaching staff to various ranks, including Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent.
In a statement signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi, Ag. Deputy Director-General (MS), GES stressed that applicants must meet the qualification timelines.
“An applicant should have been promoted to the required rank in or before 2020 and should have been continuously at post since the date (except for approved leave of absence),” the circular explained.
GES further clarified that applicants relying on Master’s/PhD degrees must ensure their programmes are on the approved GES course of study.
“The Master’s/PhD certificate should not have been obtained before the previous promotion… Applicants who wish to use the Master’s/PhD certificate for ADI, ADII and Deputy Director promotion should have obtained their certificate in or before 2022,” the notice stated.
On the mode of application, GES directed teachers to apply online. “An applicant should complete the application form online via https://bit.ly/gespromotions2025 or scan the QR code provided.
All documents uploaded must be in PDF (except passport picture) and should be clear and legible,” it noted.
