The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with other security agencies, has arrested Mr. Daniel Adomako, widely known on social media as Sir Obama Pokuase, as part of ongoing intelligence-led operations to dismantle illegal weapons networks.
The arrest, carried out on Wednesday, August 13, follows investigations into images and videos allegedly shared by Mr. Adomako, which appeared to show individuals openly displaying high-grade, illegally acquired firearms.
According to the Police, these operations have been ongoing for several weeks and have so far led to the seizure of a significant cache of illicit arms and ammunition.
In a related development, three other suspects — Prince Ofori, Yayra Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwakye — are in custody over allegations of issuing death threats and publishing false news in connection with the recent helicopter crash.
Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Ghana Police Service pledged to continue dismantling criminal networks and curbing the spread of illegal arms.
“We urge the public to continue providing credible information to assist us in these crucial operations,”
the statement read, adding that further updates will be provided as investigations progress in accordance with due process.
The statement was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs.
