Sekyere Kusi Senior High Technical School, located in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region, is in urgent need of infrastructure support as it grapples with significant challenges that threaten the quality of education delivered to students.
Since its establishment, the school has struggled with limited resources and inadequate infrastructure. The most pressing concerns include the lack of proper classroom blocks and dormitory facilities, which continue to hinder academic progress and the overall development of the institution.
The Assembly Member for the Sekyere Kontonkyi Electoral Area, Alex Antwi, has made a passionate appeal to the government, benevolent individuals, corporate bodies, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to extend a helping hand to the school.
“The school lacks the basic infrastructure necessary to support effective teaching and learning. Students are compelled to study under very difficult conditions. We are calling on all stakeholders to intervene and support the future of these young ones,” Antwi said during a recent community engagement.
In response to the dire situation, the traditional authorities of Sekyere Kontonkyi, led by the Chief, Obuohiakuma Osei Onin Pobi II, urged all stakeholders, including former students, philanthropists, and local businesses, to contribute towards the development of the school.
“Education is the bedrock of every community’s development. If we fail to invest in these young minds, we are jeopardising our future. I am calling on all well-meaning Ghanaians and organisations to support this noble cause,” Obuohiakuma Osei Onin Pobi II emphasised.
