The John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage (JEAMMH) is set to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the passing of former President John Evans Atta Mills on July 22, 2025. The event will take the form of a memorial lecture to be held at the Kofi Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
Distinguished speakers for the occasion will include Madam Charlotte Osei, former Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, and Julius Debrah, former Chief of Staff.
As part of efforts to preserve the legacy of the late president, JEAMMH has begun work on a comprehensive documentary chronicling the life, leadership, and values of Prof. Mills. The documentary will showcase the principles and vision that guided his public service and defined his presidency.
Both the memorial lecture and the documentary project form part of JEAMMH’s broader mission to honour and promote the memory of Prof. Mills, while encouraging future generations to emulate his values of peace, humility, integrity, and dedication to public service.
Nana Oye Bampoe, a member of the Memorial Heritage, emphasised that the annual event is meant to celebrate the enduring legacy of the second president of Ghana’s Fourth Republic. According to her, Ghana lost a man of peace, humility, and unwavering conviction 13 years ago—a leader whose life was wholly devoted to serving the nation and must be remembered by all Ghanaians.
