The Ghana Police Service has promoted four officers from the Western Central Regional Command in recognition of their professionalism and dedication during a major criminal investigation.
The officers — No. 47459 G/Sgt. Fetus Gameli Kukuia, No. 52192 G/Cpl. Christian Asare, No. 52441 G/Cpl. Nicholas Kingsley Amoah, and No. 59947 G/Const. Adam Yakubu — have been elevated to the ranks of Inspector, Sergeant, and Lance Corporal, respectively.
According to a statement from the Police Administration, the promotions are in acknowledgment of the officers’ exemplary conduct, vigilance, and commitment to duty.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, along with the Police Management Board (POMAB), praised the officers, describing the promotions as part of ongoing efforts to reward exceptional service within the force.
Their recognition stems from a successful operation on April 30, 2025, at the Bawdie Barrier near Wassa Akropong, where the officers arrested three armed suspects—Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab—linked to the murder of five individuals in Asiyaw, near Nsawam, just a day prior.
The suspects, who were traveling on a Grand Bird Bus (registration AS 4431 22), were intercepted, and a search revealed a submachine gun and 21 rounds of ammunition in the possession of Hakeem Imoro.
