The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a 46-year-old Ghanaian woman following the interception of 30 slabs of suspected cannabis weighing approximately 16.4 kilograms.
The arrest took place on Tuesday, May 27, at the consolidated cargo section of Swissport at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
In an official statement, NACOC revealed that the operation was based on actionable intelligence. Upon inspecting the suspect’s cargo, officers discovered the compressed cannabis concealed among personal belongings.
The woman is currently in custody and assisting authorities with ongoing investigations. Meanwhile, the seized substance has been secured for further forensic analysis.
