The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Builsa North Constituency in the Upper East Region, James Agalga, has donated several medical equipment worth over one hundred and fifty-three thousand Ghana Cedis (153,000) to the Sandema Municipal Hospital to improve healthcare services in the Municipality and beyond.
The items include a Temperature Gun, Surgical Gown, medical disposable face mask, Flowmeter set, Pulse Oximeter, Hospital Bedsheets, Oxygen mask, and Nasal cannula, among others.
The donation was part of the MP’s commitment to improving quality health delivery in the Builsa North Municipality.
Presenting the equipment at the premises of the Hospital on Monday, Mr. Agalga, who is also the Chairman of the Interior and Defence committee in parliament, said he was concerned about the health status of his constituents who deserve quality healthcare delivery, which can only be achieved with up-to-date medical equipment, hence the donation.

The MP indicated that he personally lobbied for the items and appealed to all, especially those with the means, to do likewise, as the government alone could not shoulder that responsibility.
Accompanied by some party constituency executives, the MP also took the opportunity to tour the hospital to gather first-hand information on some of the challenges facing the Hospital.
The wards toured by the MP included the Emergency, maternity, Male surgical, kids wards, and an uncompleted mortuary facility.
The Builsa North Municipal Health Director, Mr. Cabral Vwowajei Bantiu, who was excited about the gesture, commended the MP for his assistance.
He called on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other well-to-do Builsas in the Municipality to emulate the good example of Mr. Agalga and assist the health facilities across the Municipality for the benefit of patients.
