The Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has ignited political discourse following his remarks about the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Time on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, the Tafo MP asserted, “No matter what Dr. Frank Amoakohene does, he cannot weaken the base of the NPP in Ashanti Region.”
His statement was in response to the widespread praise Dr. Amoakohene has received for his dedication to developing the Ashanti Region, despite having been in office for less than three months.
In a swift response, Dr. Frank Amoakohene took to his official Facebook page, calling on political leaders from both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to move beyond partisan politics and prioritize national development.
According to him, although the NDC government has been in power for barely four months, its focus remains on nation-building, and he expects the opposition party to adopt the same approach.
“Everything should not be about partisan affiliations. The next elections are three years and eight months away. Our focus now should be on how we can develop our beloved region and nation,” Dr. Amoakohene posted.
