Veteran Ghanaian musician, Tic Tac, has called for greater support for Ghanaian artists, both locally and internationally, to help elevate the country’s music industry.

In a recent interview on Oyerepa TV, the award-winning artist, now known as TiC, acknowledged that while Ghanaians have shown him some level of support, there is still much more that can be done to push the music industry forward.

“Ghanaians have been okay with me, but they can do more. Ghanaians can do more, not just with me but with the artists in the country, especially those not just in Ghana but in Europe and America. We need them to do more where African music is doing well,” he stated.

TiC emphasized that if Ghana has played a role in shaping Afrobeats, then the nation must take pride in its contributions and actively claim its place on the global music stage.

“If we have indeed fed Afrobeats, then we need to stand up, raise our chest high, and take what we deserve, as well as push what is out there,” he added.

Comparing Ghana’s efforts to Nigeria’s, the music star noted that Nigerians have successfully pushed African music onto the global stage, and Ghanaians must also do the same.

“Nigerians have pushed African music globally, and we Ghanaians must also shout it high,” he urged.

His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about the dominance of Nigerian music over Ghanaian music in the international scene.

Many industry players have called for better structures, investment, and unity within Ghana’s music industry to ensure that local artists receive the recognition they deserve.
