Mavis Boakye, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MB_FY Ventures, has outlined her vision for local wine production in Ghana at the launch of Martin B Wines.

Leveraging the country’s vast arable lands, Boakye aims to establish local wine production, creating employment opportunities and contributing to Ghana’s economic growth.

The launch of Martin B Wines on Valentine’s Day was symbolic, representing love, celebration, and togetherness.

According to Boakye, this makes Martin B Wines an ideal choice for all social occasions. The wines, crafted from various grape varieties, boast a low alcohol percentage, making them suitable for everyone.

In tandem with promoting Ghana’s wine industry, Mavis Boakye emphasized the importance of responsible drinking practices. She urged consumers to drink in moderation and avoid driving under the influence, prioritizing safety and well-being.

Mavis Boakye, encouraged guests to indulge in wine in moderation, highlighting its social benefits while cautioning against excessive consumption. “Wine brings people together during celebrations and special moments,” she noted.

The event showcased an exquisite selection of wines, offering attendees an opportunity to experience the finest vintages. Boakye’s timely advice served as a reminder to prioritize responsible drinking habits, ensuring that the joy of wine appreciation is enjoyed safely and in good company.

On her part, Mr. Alexander Nketia, Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority in Greater Accra, emphasized the potential of grape production in Ghana, particularly in creating job opportunities for the youth.

He urged the Ministry of Agriculture to support the development of grape varieties, which would ultimately contribute to the growth of the wine industry in Ghana.

In a separate advisory, Nketia cautioned the public, especially the youth, to limit their alcohol consumption and avoid drinking and driving, as it can lead to accidents. He stressed the importance of moderation in alcohol consumption, highlighting its potential to cause problems.
