Rev. Justice Boffah Poku Mensah, a lecturer at Christian Service University, has made a strong statement regarding the fate of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
He asserted that even if Ofori-Atta were to pass away, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration would still pursue legal action against him posthumously.
The outspoken lecturer made these remarks during an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, with Kwesi Parker Wilson, where he was reacting to the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) recent declaration of Ofori-Atta as a fugitive.
The OSP’s decision has sparked widespread discussions, with political analysts and the general public weighing the implications.
Rev. Boffah Poku Mensah emphasized that the NDC is determined to hold the former Finance Minister accountable for his alleged financial mismanagement and questionable economic policies during his tenure.
He argued that the gravity of the allegations against Ofori-Atta is so significant that the current NDC government led by Mahama would not hesitate to seek justice, even if it meant prosecuting him posthumously.
“As for Ken Ofori-Atta, even if he dies today, the NDC administration will still prosecute him posthumously” – Rev. Justice Boffah Poku Mensah said.
Ghana’s former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has been declared a fugitive by the Special Prosecutor due to his alleged involvement in multiple corruption cases during his time in office.
According to Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyabeng, Ofori-Atta fled the country to evade investigations. He assured that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure his return and accountability.
