Social media users have heavily reacted to comments made by Member of Parliament for Suame Constituency, Lawyer John Darko, that, the outgone New Patriotic Party secured $ 2 billion for projects before leaving office.
Lawyer John Darko, speaking in an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, Monday, February 10, 2025, hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, said, the NPP government left a better economy full of funds for projects and that the incumbent NDC government headed by President Mahama has no excuse not to complete the Suame Interchange.
“Before leaving office, we (NPP) negotiated a deal worth over $2 billion with Amin Anta to be allocated to the government for various projects. Therefore, we expect President John Mahama to use part of these funds to complete the Suame Interchange. Thankfully, the economy had started recovering before we left office, so there should be no financial constraints for the project. They must prioritize its completion,” he stated.
Some Social Media users upon seeing the post have raised several questions, whilst others have lambasted the MP for making such comments.
